Short On Thyme Personal Chef Service

Canine Cuisine & Confections

Just like you wouldn't eat TV dinners every meal, every day, why would you give your hound processed dog food every day loaded with chemicals, additives and preservatives. You may survive on these dinners, but you wouldn't thrive. And, over time, your immune system would break down and disease would most likely occur. Animals are the same.

Yes, there are high-quality commercial foods on the market, but the bottom line is, a homemade (no seasonings or spices) or raw diet is the best you can give your pet to avoid numerous problems such as:

  • allergies
  • digestive and skin disorders
  • obesity
  • diabetes
  • eye/ear problems
  • hip dysplasia
  • tooth decay
  • degenerative diseases

Why not treat your pooch to homemade nutritious meals that will keep him/her healthy and promote longevity. Chef Shelley uses USDA inspected meats (very low-no risk of salmonella or E.coli) and other fresh ingredients in her recipes while providing a variety of foods which is essential to a well-rounded and balanced diet.

Additionally, your hound will love Chef Shelley's fresh, homemade all-natural dog treats made with ingredients such as wheat-free gluten-free flour, honey, carob, pumpkin, cheese, yogurt, applesauce, organic peanut butter, fresh herbs, fresh and dried fruits, and her main ingredient – love. Her canine confections do not contain additives or preservatives, byproducts, chemicals, artificial flavors, and do not have the high fat and sugar content found in some commercial treats.

Chef Shelley became very interested in dog nutrition after acquiring “Rusty,” her Cairn Terrier. She spent lots of time conducting Internet research, talking to vets and breeders about commercial dog food and its harmful effects. “It sustains their life but does not promote longevity.” Shelley feeds Rusty a healthy diet of raw meat, cooked salmon and “muttloaf,” veggies, fruits, cottage cheese and yogurt.
